Best Medical International (BMI) started a technological project in 2009 to develop a state-of-art Particle Therapy System that would be use to treat cancer patients with unprecedented precision. The critical mission is to improve clinical outcome at costs lower than conventional radiation therapy. The project execution plan includes 3 phases. Phase 1 (past) entered a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in 2010 to advance the design of the ion Rapid Cycling Medical Synchrotron (iRCMS). This CRADA was a U.S. Department of Energy Contract No.DE-SC0012704 were BMI the “Participant solely funded BNL the “Contractor. Phase 2 (present) entered a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) with Superconducting Magnet Division at BNL. This phase involves testing of the 60° sector magnet and procurement of RF accelerating systems. Phase 3 (future) is schedule for 2020 in which prototypes will be relocated to a test facility owned by Best Medical International where components will be modified, assembled and tested. Pending the outcome of this application BMI would locate this test facility in the greater capital region of New York
